It has recently been announced that Logik.AI, an AI-powered CPQ solution, has been acquired by ServiceNow.
This comes not long after ServiceNow stepped into the world of CRM, and Logik.AI’s strong sales and commerce capabilities will allow ServiceNow’s growing CRM presence to be accelerated through greater efficiency and higher productivity.
What Is Logik.AI?
Logik.AI is an AI-oriented Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) solution that aims to help businesses “drive performance and enable optimized customer experiences with end-to-end, AI-powered CPQ”.
It does this by accelerating the entire transaction management cycle through an advanced rules engine that solves for speed, simplicity, and scale while powering a consumer‑grade experience for both sellers and buyers.
The type of sales processes that Logik.AI can help with include direct sales, partner, direct‑to‑business, and consumer self‑service. They currently help companies such as Keysight, Oldcastle Infrastructure, Lamons, CORT, and more.
Why Has ServiceNow Acquired Logik.AI?
This partnership between Logik.AI and ServiceNow is critical to ServiceNow’s early advancements into the world of CRM. Leading CRM tools like Salesforce offer processes such as sales, data management, and customer management all on one platform, and with Logik.AI at the helm, ServiceNow is one step closer to the complete deal.
John Ball, EVP and GM of CRM & Industry Workflows at ServiceNow, said that the CPQ space is evolving, and Logik.AI is “leading the way to a simpler, AI-powered selling experience across channels.”
“By adding Logik.ai’s industry-leading sales and commerce solution to our CRM offering, ServiceNow will further enhance our capability to sell, fulfill, and service on a single platform,” he said.
“It’s about delivering a fundamentally different vision and approach to traditional CRM and CPQ offerings – one that addresses the real pain points in connecting end-to-end customer experiences.”
Christopher Shutts, the Co-Founder and CEO of Logik.AI, agreed, calling the acquisition day “an amazing day for Logik customers and employees.”
“The Logik technology combined with the ServiceNow platform is a perfect fit and will allow us to innovate our selling technology even faster. Our customers can enjoy business as usual as we continue to support all our current and future planned integrations.”
What Could This Mean for Salesforce After the Loss of Salesforce CPQ?
This news comes shortly after it was announced that Salesforce CPQ would be entering an “End of Sale” (EOS) phase. After being part of Salesforce’s product catalogue since 2015, it was decided that the next step in Salesforce’s CPQ offerings would be with Revenue Cloud.
What is interesting about this new development is that Logik.AI has been a notable Salesforce partner for many years, having both an AppExchange solution for CPQ and Commerce and a Commerce Logic Engine that can integrate directly with Salesforce B2B Commerce Cloud.
Salesforce and ServiceNow have been competitors for several years, and this was only further accelerated when ServiceNow officially became a CRM in January. Couple that with accusations of “poaching” Salesforce employees, and it can begin to look like the two cloud solutions are more than stepping on each other’s toes – and this could very well be the next step.
Summary
ServiceNow’s acquisition of Logik.AI comes at a time when big changes are happening in the world of CPQ.
The decision – a strong one for ServiceNow’s CRM plans – will likely cause a bit of a stir in the wider CRM space, but it will be interesting to see what ServiceNow announces next.
