Salesforce have announced plans to invest $1B in Singapore over the next five years to fuel the adoption of their AI agent, Agentforce.
This follows recent investments in both Saudi Arabia and Argentina, as the company look to accelerate Agentforce use across the world.
Why Invest in Singapore?
Salesforce has a strong existing relationship with Singapore, having invested in the country for over two decades.
Back in 2019, Salesforce took its AI Research global, picking Singapore as the first international hub. Since then, the team has made major strides in advancing AI for the industry, including developing cutting-edge models like multimodal language-vision foundation models (BLIP) and time-series foundation models (Moirai).
However, Singapore has struggled with a slow growth rate in its labor force due to an aging population and declining birth rates.
With the push of Agentforce, Salesforce believes this will provide the country the opportunity to expand its labor force in many of its key sectors.
This strong foundation allows Salesforce to build on the relationship and help many of their Singaporean clients use AI technologies more efficiently. Notable companies benefiting from these innovations include Singapore Airlines, Grab, M1, FairPrice Group, Ocean Network Express, and PRISM+.
Following the investment announcement, Singapore Airlines also declared that they would be incorporating Agentforce, Einstein in Service Cloud, and Data Cloud into their customer case management system.
Jermaine Loy, Managing Director of the Singapore Economic Development Board, said: “Singapore welcomes Salesforce’s investment, which will boost our ongoing efforts to build a vibrant hub for AI innovation and adoption across our economy. Salesforce’s initiatives in AI research and workforce development will strengthen our ecosystem by catalysing innovation for key industries and corporates based in Singapore.”
Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff was in Singapore to announce the news himself, sharing his experience on X.
In the official announcement, Benioff said: “Singapore is at the forefront of this shift, and as the world’s largest provider of digital labor through our Agentforce platform, Salesforce is thrilled to expand our work with the business community and our longtime partners in the region to drive innovation, productivity and growth.”
Final Thoughts
Agentforce continues to be at the forefront of Salesforce’s efforts in 2025, and continued expansion shows their commitment to ensuring their entire ecosystem has a fair opportunity to use Agentforce effectively.
